As many of you know, I have been Club Professional here at Rochford Hundred Golf Club for a number of years and in that time I have had the pleasure of coaching many members of all standards.  

I have been P.G.A. qualified for over 20 years and in that time I have seen the game of golf move on from a relaxed pass time for weekend golfers to a modern day sport, played by athletes.  For the Professional Golfer, natural talent simply is not enough to be a top player.  We now see work ethics and fitness levels taken to extremes.  A good case is British Open winner Padraig Harrington, who has constantly pushed to improve every aspect of his game.  Although natural talent is obviously important, even the most Professional players prove that by itself this is not enough.  For the Club Golfer and when time is of the essence, life is slightly different.  Over the next few  months, I will be passing on some of the knowledge I have been able to gain over the last 20 years.
