| To begin with, two things must be correct if we are to achieve good aim. Firstly, the club face and secondly the player himself/herself. Good aim generally starts from behind the ball. Whatever the shot, whatever the club and whatever the distance, from behind the ball you'll have a chance to picture a straight line from your ball to your target. When you step round to face the ball, the club face should always be alined at right angles to it. This would be deemed a square club face. With your feet together, try to achieve parallels i.e. feet, hips, shoulders to the club and to the ball. Separate your feet equally to the width of your shoulders, with your toes pointing at 5 to 1 on the clock face, with the ball central to your stance. Visualise the letter 'H' and work to perform this routine consistently. The reason this is so important is that although the routine stays the same, the angle of the shot does not! |
