Rochford Hundred Golf Club

We are very proud of our Cadet and Junior Sections. There are not many clubs in the country who are able to boast of representing England in a major UK final two years running. In addition, we provided three boys to the Essex County Boys Under 18 County team who won the Inter County six man team event in 2014, and we are regularly feeding the County teams with young players.

All this has been achieved by hard work and dedication from a small but enthusiastic group of club members.

The Cadet/Junior Section is loosely divided into three groups of players.

High Fliers – children as young as 7 years of age start their golfing journey every Tuesday evening throughout the summer months. When they have reached a suitable standard they progress to the Cadets.

Cadets – Regular meetings throughout the year are arranged to provide competition against each other, where handicaps can be adjusted. Cadets can also enter many competitions alongside adults; they have their own prizes and handicaps are adjusted against the whole field of club players. Obviously, they are also encouraged to play social golf at other times.

Senior Cadets – whose handicaps are 12 or below have free access to the course and are encouraged to join in all Adult competitions.

The various playing rights are reflected in the subscription for each category of Cadet.

Some playing lessons are provided and Summer schools are planned during the Summer holidays to help develop all categories.

The Club is very interested in hearing from all categories of Cadet players from starters to the very accomplished. The Club Office will arrange for the appropriate Junior Organiser to welcome you to the Club and explain our arrangements for Cadets more fully.
