We both heartily welcome you to our Golf Club.
We have been members of the Golf Club for many years, and we are both looking forward to progressing a number of exciting Club initiatives this year aimed at continuing our modernisation whilst also ensuring we maintain and respect our Club’s traditions and heritage.
We have ambitious plans to continue to improve the golf course in line with our members wishes. We are a very friendly, social and welcoming club.
We wish our various Club teams well and we will both be actively supporting them in the numerous Inter Club Competitions. We have some very capable golfers in our Club at all levels, and we expect that our teams will perform well.
As always, the Men’s and Ladies’ sections have a varied calendar of golfing events this year, providing competitive and social golf at weekends and midweek. We encourage all active golfing members to try and "Get your name on the board"
At Rochford we have a revised ‘New to Golf’ programme with an active plan to regenerate our Junior Cadet section. Our Club Professional, Chris Nunn, is focused on creating a "pathway" for all potential golfers, particularly our next generation, and we both fully support this initiative.
Also, with the assistance of Chris we have plans for some of the Clubs key golfing days, which we hope our members will find memorable and enjoyable.
Our Club welcomes not only our members but also potential new members, individuals, groups and societies, both for golf and for social events. We have a superb golf course as well as excellent entertainment facilities that are available for hire for private functions (for use of both members and non-members). Our Golfing and Entertainment Working Groups already have a number of events booked for 2026, which we hope our members and guests, will support and enjoy.
In addition, our Ladies section runs a vibrant ‘off the course’ calendar which includes lunches, Whist Drives and a Bridge League.
We are very proud of the 133-year history of RHGC, the course, the clubhouse, our members, and the family-friendly welcoming atmosphere.
This is a great club to be a part of, and we are privileged to be Captains at such a favourable time in the history of RHGC. We are really looking forward to the year, for ourselves, our members and our guests alike.
Here's to an exciting 2026.
